FINE ART ‘PIGMENT’ OR ‘GICLÉE’ INKJET PRINTS
Pigment printing, often known as Giclée, is the most versatile archival process available to photographers and artists. We print with pigment inks on cotton and alpha-cellulose papers, which hold detail with precision and resist fading for generations. Every print begins with a conversation: we advise on paper selection, prepare files and proof carefully before the final print. We have printed for Magnum, Aperture and many of the world’s leading photographers.

CARBON ARCHIVAL PRINTS
We developed Carbon Archival printing in 2016 as a new form of specialist, museum quality monochrome printing. The method is our own, exclusive to Flow, combining the sensibility of traditional darkroom printing with contemporary technology. The results are distinctive: deep, open shadows, highlights that roll off gently and exceptional permanence owing to the materials used.

SILVER GELATIN FIBRE BASED PRINTS
We produce traditional black and white prints on fibre based stock, in the same basic method since Fox Talbot invented the Calotype in 1841!

FILM AND PRINT SCANNING
Fine printing begins with a proper scan. We drum scan 35mm, 120 and 5×4 film to the highest standard available, extracting the full measure of tone and detail your negatives and transparencies hold.
Prints up to A3 are scanned directly; larger originals are photographically flat copied in the studio. Whether digitising an archive or preparing images for publication or exhibition, we treat originals with appropriate care.

PUBLISHING REPRO
We have developed publishing clients all over the world because we understand the specialist requirements of reprographics for photography at the highest technical level.
We prepare files for book production: scanning, duotone and tritone separations and match prints that give printers an accurate target on press.
FRAMING
We operate a full framing service from our studio, from museum standard frames to custom designs and Diasec face mounting. Because we make the prints as well as the frames, we advise on the whole object: paper, mount, glazing and moulding considered together. We frame single pieces and entire exhibitions with equal care.
EXHIBITION DESIGN & CONSULTANCY
Mounting an exhibition involves a hundred decisions, and we have made most of them many times over. We advise on print size, sequencing, framing, hanging and installation. Our experience spans commercial galleries, museums and institutions including the Bodleian Library and Dulwich Picture Gallery, as printers and as curators. Whether a first solo show or a touring retrospective, we help photographers avoid expensive mistakes.
BOOK DESIGN
The photobook is its own discipline, with its own logic of sequence, pacing and form. We offer a complete design service alongside publishing consultancy drawn from years of collaboration with leading photobook publishers. We can shape a project from loose edit to finished dummy, advise on printers, papers and binding and guide you through publishing, whether independently or with an established house.
